Recognizing the Victors

On a cool Friday night during their monthly General Assembly, the Surrey 3 St. Bernadette Chapter was officially presented, in a simple ceremony, with the 2014 CFC ANCOP Spring Relay Run Cup. This came a few days after the culmination of the revitalized relay race. Chito and Rosemarie Concepcion, co-chairmen of the event were on hand to present the award to the reigning champion. With the chapter's name now emblazed on the Cup, John and Brenda Navoa, chapter heads, and Alwyn and Melody Yambao, ANCOP coordinators, accepted the recognition who then presented the Cup to the body amid cheers and applause.

The chapter, which did not expect to grab the overall spot, was jubilant knowing that hard work and preparation pays off. They were hard at work raising the needed funds for the event and they earnestly prepared their running team from the runners to the coaching staff.

Holding the chapter's banner which placed second in another competition within the event, the running team are all smiles as they once again hoist the Cup.

Also conferred with Certificates of Participation were the following: James Viola, Johanne Costelo, Jomer Magtibay, Janelle Tasarra, representing Kids for Christ; Jacob Viola, Alyssa Gutierrez, Janro Tasarra, Paula Correa, representing Youth for Christ; Michael Chudyk, Dianne Castillo, Ronn Ponce, Charmian Villarama, representing Singles for Christ; Jamil & Junet Alipio and Jonathan & Rina Tasarra, representing Couples for Christ; Donabel Moyalde, Dora Zamora, Maria Magtibay, representing Handmaids of the Lord; John Navoa, Team Captain; Greg Castillo, Time Keeper; Rico Cornejo, Asst Coach; Jonathan Tasarra, Coach.
